ARCS Light Award

Each year, ARCS chapters select one member to be recognized for providing the highest quality of long-time service to her chapter. The distinctive ARCS Light Award recognizes recipients for continuous service that has made a positive impact on ARCS Foundation and its mission of advancing science in America. These unsung heroes of ARCS Foundation are honored at the ARCS Foundation All Members Conference.

Described by her ARCS Sponsor and sister-in-law Elizabeth Rudolf as “hardworking, honest, and dedicated and someone who approaches problems with professional expertise honed by her years as an accountant and auditor with Arthur Andersen & Co and King Broadcasting”, Amy Rudolf is the ARCS Foundation Seattle Chapter 2025 ARCS Light award nominee.
Always proactive, Amy hit the ground running when she joined ARCS in 2007, immediately accepting the role of Luncheon Co-Chair.  Subsequent years have seen her take on multiple Chapter leadership roles: including VP of Development, VP of Finance, Board Advisor and Chapter President.

Past ARCS President, Jenny Wyatt, describes how Amy’s 2017-2018 tenure as President inspired her: “Each president who has preceded me has been a role model and we have each had to deal with delicate issues.  With Amy, I was keenly aware of her willingness to listen, to reach out and bring in different voices, consider options, and build consensus.”  The skills Amy honed at the Chapter level also benefitted ARCS National with her assuming the roles of VP Finance and Chair of the National Endowment Committee on the National Board.
In addition to her support of ARCS Foundation, Amy’s philanthropic efforts include work with the Junior League, Mercer Island Public School, and the National Charity League (Evergreen Chapter).  Amy, and her husband Matt, have funded two fellowships in Crop & Soil Sciences at Washington State University.  A proud Husky, Amy graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Business Administration.
